Nikhita Gandhi feels that the Indian audience is high on replays and recalls making remixes much popular. She believes that the Indian audience is really big on fresh comebacks and even in the shows, performances do not include original versions because people in India want to listen to the songs that they know and can sing along and this is exactly the reason why remixes are a big thing right today.

When asked if she personally is a fan of remixes, the singer admitted that although she enjoys some of them which are innovative and are fun but it actually depends on how it’s made. Nikhita’s song Burj Khalifa from the 2020 horror-comedy film called Laxmii is one of the originals that is remixed and delivered to the audience. On this note, Gandhi feels blessed to be part of the song ‘Burj Khalifa’ and is grateful to Shashi who is the music composer, for letting her be part of the song, which is a sensational hit.

Nikhita has lately collaborated with American R&B and soul singer-songwriter Pink Sweats as well for a remixed version of his popular song “At my worst”, and the singer is very thankful to her team for making this possible.

She believes that the Pink Sweats collaboration is a proud moment for both teams. She informs that his publishers had approached her because they were really fond of her collaboration, which she’d done with an American-Indian artiste on a song called ‘Insecure’. She confessed that it meant a huge deal to her when she was given this brief and found it absolutely unbelievable when she was informed about this by her manager. She recalls getting feedback from their team that they liked her version. She just couldn’t believe that she was on the same playlist with Pink Sweats and Kehlani.

Nikhita has recently joined A music reality show called Indian Pro Music League (IPML), where she said that her experience with IPML has so far been exciting as it is something new to her because she has never done TV. She reveals that her teammates Shaan da, Akriti Kakar, Rituraj and Mismi are wonderful people and finds it’s great to perform and ideate with them. She gives a word for the budding singers and advice that it is a great time for them to achieve what they desire. It’s the age of the internet, where they can put their work out there and that’s a great tool for this generation to reach audience.
