Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha was one of the most anticipated movies of the year which was earlier scheduled for a theatrical release on the occasion of Christmas. However, in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic, shooting for the movie was halted and the makers are not eyeing for a 2020 release anymore. While the movie takes a look at the major historical events of the country since the 1947 partition, the latest report suggests that the screenplay might include COVID-19 as well.
Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Hindi remake of the classic Hollywood drama, Forrest Gump, which starred Tom Hanks in the titular character and the story went through major historical events through the eyes of the protagonist. The makers of the remake have adapted the screenplay for the Indian audience and incorporated major historic landmark events of the country. A source close to the development of the movie suggests that the makers are planning to incorporate the current global crisis in the movie as well.
Since the shooting is halted, the source claims that the makers are planning to include fresh inputs in the screenplay which will incorporate the current pandemic situation. The shooting for the movie will resume with precautionary measures once the situation normalizes. The movie also makes a record for shooting in over 100 different locations across the country to portray different pseudo-historic events.
Helmed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha stars Aamir Khan in the titular character with Kareena Kapoor Khan playing his love interest.
