Numerous well-known films have been of late required to be postponed because of the rising COVID19 cases. One such film is Alia Bhatt’s much anticipated, Gangubai Kathiawadi. The actress has recently unveiled the new poster of the upcoming movie on her Instagram and Twitter handle, leaving her fans excited and enthralled. In the caption, she revealed that the trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi will be out on February 4. “Aa Rahi Hai Gangu. Trailer out on 4th February #GangubaiKathiawadi in cinemas on 25th February 2022,” she wrote.

Ever since Sanjay Leela Bhansali had announced his collaboration with Alia Bhatt for Gangubai Kathiawadi, fans have been eagerly waiting for the movie to hit the theatres. In the poster, Alia is dressed in a white saree with red and silver bangles and a pair of silver anklets. She has completed her look with open tresses, big red bindi and kohled eyes with an intense look and can be seen lying on a cot. The overall look is quite powerful and intense. Alia’s look in the poster earned her appreciation from fans and even mom Soni Razdan. Fellow actor Huma Qureshi commented “Woohoo” on the picture. Fans also shared their love, with some calling it ‘gazab’ and ‘amazing’.
Apart from Alia, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial will also star Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, and has Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in intended cameos.
The film is adapted from one of the chapters of author Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. It features Alia in the role of Gangubai, one of the most powerful madams from Mumbai’s red-light area Kamathipura during the 1960s. The film is co-produced by Jayantilal Gada’s Pen India Limited.
