Coronavirus was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization recently as the global threat has infected over 2 lakh people in over 170 countries across the world. As prevention measure to contain the outbreak, many state governments in India ordered theatres and multiplexes to remain shut affecting recently released movies harshly. Now the makers of Baaghi 3 and Angrezi Medium are looking forward to releasing their movies once again to mint success at the ticket counters.
Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer high-octane action movie, Baaghi 3 released on the 6th of March and had a successful opening week amid the threat of Coronavirus. However, ticket sales significantly declined in the second week due to the escalation of the viral outbreak in India followed by protocol of the government to completely shut movie screening in many states.
On the other hand, Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer comedy-drama, Angrezi Medium, released on the 13th of March and never saw the light as the movie sank without a try. Producer of the Irrfan Khan starrer, Dinesh Vijan, had earlier made his intentions clear to re-release the movie after the dust settles. Meanwhile, the makers of Baaghi 3 are looking forward to following the footsteps of Dinesh.
As per a source, director Ahmed Khan and co-producer Sajid Nadiadwala are planning to re-release the third instalment of the blockbuster franchise, Baaghi. However, another producer of the movie, Fox Star, is still confused considering the cost of re-marketing and publicity of another release. “We made a mistake releasing Baaghi 3 in spite of the virus threat. Now I have left it entirely to my producers Sajid Bhai (Nadiadwala) and Fox-Star. I am okay with whatever they decide,” said filmmaker Ahmed Khan.
