Karan Johar’s magnum opus epic trilogy, Brahmastra, has been the talk of the town ever since the announcement was made. The makers have been teasing the fans with short clips sharing glimpses from the movie as the fans eagerly wait for the trailer release on June 15. Meanwhile, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has shared an interesting fact about the plot of the movie.

Ayan Mukerji, who has spent years building the project, recently opened up about the plot and shared that it is not a superhero movie as people are expecting it to be. “I am not a superhero nerd. I love some of the superhero films like Avengers and Spiderman… I am not the biggest superhero fan. I would like to say that I am more of a fantasy film fan. And I honestly think Brahmastra is not a superhero film. It is not about a guy wearing a costume and necessarily saving people,” said Mukerji in a media interaction.

“It is just a fantasy epic story which has a lot of dramatic scope and in some way it is a fantasy version of me trying to write my modern version of something from myth. Like the scope that myth has but in a modern way,” he further added while talking to IANS.

Featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in the key roles, the first instalment of the keenly anticipated franchise, Brahmastra, will be released theatrically on September 9, 2022, across 5 Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
