Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have been in the news for the longest for their ongoing legal tussle and while Johnny Depp has been dropped from the Fantastic Beast franchise, netizens have been pressing the production house, Warner Bros, to fire Amber Heard. Following the viral petitions to drop Amber Heard from the upcoming superhero flick Aquaman 2, the production house has kept its mum over the controversy and here’s a possible reason.

Incidentally, the rights to both Fantastic Beasts and Aquaman 2 are owned by the production house Warner Bros and the selective decision to drop only Johnny Depp from Fantastic Beasts 3 has irked the netizens. Following the rage, a petition to fire Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 in an attempt to bring justice to Johnny Depp has gone viral and already crossed over a million signatures. However, as per reports, Warner Bros cannot fire Amber Heard from the Aquaman franchise owing to her legal contract.

For the unversed, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had fallout from their marriage and the two had accused each other of physical abuse. However, when Johnny Depp filed a libel lawsuit against a news portal for calling him a ‘wife-beater’, he lost the lawsuit costing him his career. Following the verdict against the actor, Warner Bros asked him to walk out of Fantastic Beasts and the actor graciously announced his exit from the franchise.

Meanwhile, Amber Heard has claimed that the online protest against her are paid campaigns to defame her and wouldn’t affect her role in Aquaman. “Paid rumors and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate [casting decisions] because they have no basis in reality,” she told tabloid EW.
