Indian filmmaker Karan Johar is undoubtedly one of the most popular directors in the country and he gained much of his fame for hosting the controversial celebrity-based chat show, Koffee With Karan. While the filmmaker has done six seasons of the chat show, each being successful and controversial, the fans were keenly waiting for a new season with different superstars opening up with their lives. However, with a ‘heavy heart’, Johar announced that he will not be returning with a new season of his chat show.

There were multiple reports doing around over the internet claiming another season of Koffee With Karan is all set to return with the host Karan Johar. The reports also shared a list of expected celebrities making an appearance in the season. However, putting all the rumours to rest, Karan Johar took to his Twitter handle to make the announcement that the show will not be renewed.

“Hello, Koffee with Karan has been a part of my life, and yours, for 6 seasons now I’d like to think we’ve made an impact and even found our place in pop culture history. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Koffee with Karan will not be returning…” he wrote as he shared the update. On the other hand, Johar will be returning as a director for Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
