Zee Theatre presents Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti, a lively adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic comedy Taming of the Shrew. Directed by renowned theatre and cinema veteran Akarsh Khurana, this 90s-inspired production stars YouTuber Prajakta Koli in her teleplay debut alongside Shikha Talsania, Chaitnya Sharma, and Adhaar Khurana.

The story revolves around the love between Lakshman (Chaitnya Sharma) and Priya (Prajakta Koli), who cannot get married until Priya’s elder sister Pallavi (Shikha Talsania) finds a groom. To resolve this issue, Lakshman comes up with a hilarious plan to get Pallavi married to an eligible NRI groom (Adhaar Khurana). The result is a series of comical and chaotic events that will keep you entertained.

Director Akarsh Khurana says, “Telling the story of Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti was an absolute joy from the start. The cast and crew had a fantastic time blending the 90s nostalgia with the comedic elements of Shakespeare. Adhir Bhat’s script, Lisha Bajaj’s witty one-liners, and the energy of the actors brought the house down during every rehearsal. I am confident that audiences will love this story.”

Prajakta Koli, who makes her teleplay debut in Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti, shares her experience, “Working with Akarsh has always been a great experience for me. He is a mentor to many young actors and I trust him completely to guide me through my first teleplay. The joy and energy we experienced during the shoot are evident in the final cut and I know audiences will love it. It’s so ‘extra’ and full of fun!”

Shikha Talsania, who plays Pallavi, adds, “Collaborating with dear friends and working with Akarsh made Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti a fantastic experience. I took inspiration from my favourite 90s actors and brought my own madness to the character of Pallavi. It was a great time playing her.”
