The slice-of-life film Thank God, starring Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh, finally had its trailer released on Friday after much waiting and anticipation, and it has undoubtedly piqued the interest of both fans and movie buffs. A social comedy directed by Indra Kumar, who previously produced fan favourites like Masti and Dhamaal, appears to be making a comeback. It fully integrates the mythology of Chitragupt and Yamlok.

The Shershah actor Sidharth Malhotra is shown getting into a vehicle accident right away and then finding himself in Yamlok, where he is surrounded by strange characters. Ajay Devgn’s swagalicious entrance as Chitragupta, complete with a quirky salt-and-pepper beard, manages to steal the show by exposing Sidharth Malhotra to his many weaknesses, including rage, envy, desire, and more. The amusing trailer also hinted at the Hindi adaptation of Yohani’s popular Manike Mage Hithe song from Sri Lanka.

It said, “Iss Deepawali Hoga, Sabhi Karmo Ka Hisaab,”(All good and bad deeds will be calculated this Diwali) in the trailer’s description. When a man arrives at “Yamlok,” full of sin and uncertainty, Chitragupt offers to play a game of life with him. With #ThankGod, Mr Indra Kumar pledges to take all of the viewers on a humorous rollercoaster trip.

Several admirers who are ecstatic and pumped following the trailer’s release also shared their opinions. One of them penned, “OMG! the funny section”. Another person added, “Sid in comedic roles is what I need,”. Also heard was “Woohoo Woohoo! Finally, it’s here. The idea is hilarious and very unique.

Thank God’s lead actress, Rakul Preet Singh, recently discussed the movie in an interview with a media outlet. It’s a comedy and (has) a lot of emotion, she had stated. When I saw the movie a couple of weeks ago, I had the same impression that we had intended for the public to have (it). Even though it has nothing to do with it, it has that Munnabhai-(MBBS)-meets-Oh-My-God space that melts your heart. People will hopefully watch it in cinemas because I find it to be enjoyable”.

The international premiere of Thank God, which is backed by T-Series and Maruti International, is set for release on October 25. The movie will also have competition at the box office from the October 24 release of Ram Setu, which stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Akshay Kumar.
