Abhishek Bachchan is one of the most underrated actors of the Indian film industry who has proved his acting mantle with his movies. While the actor revamped his acting career with the OTT platform, he will next be seen in the upcoming crime thriller, The Big Bull, which is based on the life of Indian stockbroker, Harshad Mehta.

The trailer of the highly-anticipated movie was released weeks ago and received mostly positive response from the audience. However, a comparison of the movie with the Pratik Gandhi starrer web-series, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, was bound to happen. The SonyLIV web series released last year became an instant hit and is currently one of the finest OTT performances in India.

While both the stories share the same plot and set of characters, Abhishek Bachchan recently opened up on the comparison during a media interaction. Talking to Mid-Day, Junior Bachchan said, “All my life, I have been compared to the best in the business. It doesn’t frazzle me.” The actor who has been compared to his father, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, all his life, further added, “Comparisons are fine and as long as we are compared to good stuff, it’s fine. But in terms of design and intention, episodic series and movies are different disciplines to write for.”

“n a web series, the liberty of time is there and thus it will have depth and detail. The flip side is it can’t be boring. In cinema, you have to crack it up and make the story pacey. The Big Bull is a movie that has scale that’s undergone a different process. Comparisons are inevitable and I am proud of what we’ve made. We have done the best and the audience has it in their hands to decide its fate,” he concluded.

Featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Nikita Dutta, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sohum Shah in key roles, the Kookie Gulati directorial, The Big Bull, is slated for a digital release at the streaming platform, Disney+ Hotstar, on 8th April 2021.
