A new trend in gender dynamics is emerging among A-list superstars, following Shah Rukh Khan’s mentor role in Dear Zindagi with Alia Bhatt. Now, in Karan Johar’s The Untold Story Of C Sankaran Nair, Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday step into a mentor-pupil relationship, presenting a unique dynamic on screen.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the biopic stars Akshay Kumar in the titular role of C Sankaran Nair, a historical figure known for challenging the British empire in a case related to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

According to a close source, both Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday portray lawyers in the film. Akshay embodies the character of a senior and highly respected lawyer, while Ananya takes on the role of a newcomer seeking guidance from Akshay. Importantly, their relationship remains strictly professional, devoid of any romantic subplot.

Akshay Kumar’s most recent appearance was in Tinu Suresh Desai’s Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, released in October. The film centred around the heroic efforts of Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued miners trapped in a flooded mine in Raniganj in 1989. Akshay portrayed Gill in the movie, which also featured Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, and Kumud Mishra, and is now available for streaming on Netflix.
