While the pandemic continues to strengthen its grip in the nation, the entertainment industry has started to normalize with the withdrawal of some restrictions earlier imposed by the government to curb the spread of the deadly virus. December marks the end of 2020 with some highly-anticipated movies as we hope to have a better next year. To help you end the awful year with good laughter or cinematic awestruck, here’s a list of some of the most-awaited releases of the year.

Greenland

Release Date: 4 December 2020

The first release of the month is something we can relate to the most this year. Greenland is a survival story in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster. While the movie had its initial release in August, it is officially releasing in India on 4 December.

Plot: A man with his estranged wife and a chronically-ill child embarks on a journey to survive the potential extinction of all life forms on Earth as comet hurtles towards the planet. The movie beautifully depicts human desperation and their experiences to save their loved ones from the apocalypse.

Cast: Gerald Butler, Morena Baccarin, King Bach, Ric Roman Waugh, Scott Glenn, Claire Bronson and Roger Dale Floyd.

Tenet

Release Date: 4 December 2020

Tenet had been undoubtedly one of the most anticipated thrillers of the year which premiered in the United States in August with limited screens. Tenet is another masterpiece of the ace filmmaker Christopher Nolan and a beautiful attempt to alter the fabric of reality.

Plot: An unnamed CIA agent armed with ‘Tenet’ embarks on a dangerous, time-bending mission fighting for the survival of the entire world and saving it from the third world war.

Mulan

The American action drama produced by Walt Disney Pictures has finally made its way here after a months-long wait. The movie had its initial release in March 2020 in the United Arab Emirates and received critical acclaim for the performances and the storyline.

Plot: Based on Disney’s animated film of the same name, Mulan tells the story of a fierce woman who distinguishes herself as a man and goes on a battle in an attempt to save her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army.

Durgamati: The Myth

Durgamati: The Myth is a Hindi-remake of the popular Telugu horror-thriller Bhaagamathie which was helmed by the same director. The movie was previously titled Durgavati but it was changed later with Durgamati.

Plot: The horror drama revolves around the theft of idols from 12 temples which involve powerful and corrupt politician. When a suspended IAS officer has been recruited to bring justice, the ghost of Durgamati takes over her body to swear revenge.

Torbaaz

The action thriller marks the first cinematic performance of superstar Sanjay Dutt after coming out victorious in his battle with cancer. The Girish Malik directorial is expected to bring motivation in the lives of people going through their extreme.

Plot: The movie revolves around the life of an army officer who rises from his personal tragedy to transform the lives of refugee camp children through the game of cricket.
