Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is expanding his project list, with two films already in the pipeline, and he recently signed another intriguing project. This time, Saif will collaborate with renowned Tamil director Balaji Mohan, best known for the Dhanush starrer Maari. The upcoming venture, titled Click Shankar, will be produced by Junglee Pictures.
According to sources reported by Peeping Moon, Click Shankar boasts a brilliantly written, character-driven narrative, blending suspense, humour, and emotions seamlessly. Saif, perfectly suited for the role, will bring his sharp charisma and confidence to add an essence of intrigue to the story. The actor is set to commence shooting for the film in May, diving into a role that promises to be unlike any he has played before.
Reportedly, Click Shankar revolves around the character Shankar Rebeiro, an inspector with hyperthymesia—a condition ensuring every moment is vividly etched in his mind. This rare condition becomes a double-edged sword as Shankar navigates a mystery that not only tests his deductive prowess but also confronts the haunting permanence of his past. The film is poised to offer a cerebral journey with a unique blend of suspense and psychological depth.
Marking Balaji Mohan’s debut in Hindi cinema, the screenplay is crafted by Binky Mendez and Balaji Mohan, while Karan Vyas, known for his work on Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, is set to pen the dialogues. Click Shankar is conceptualized as a potential franchise.
In addition to this project, Saif Ali Khan is already engaged in two other films—Devara Part 1 alongside Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, and Red Chillies Entertainment’s investigative drama Kartavya.
