With the COVID-19 pandemic, cinema halls had been closed for months and in its absence, OTT platforms gained momentum with no other options left for entertainment enthusiasts. Many Bollywood filmmakers took the digital route to release their movies skipping the traditional theatre premiere. On the other hands, A-lister actors are hopping on to the bandwagon and making digital debuts with the OTT platforms at whopping remunerations.
As per a source, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has given his nod for a web series that is to be helmed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the duo best known for Stree and Family Man. With the success of their digital series, the duo came up with another original thriller and approached the Kabir Singh actor to play a part. Shahid Kapoor after the narration instantly gave his nod for the project with Raj and DK, which will also mark his digital debut.
The web series deal is, reportedly, with Amazone Prime and is said to be a quirky action and explosive thriller with the usual comic undertones of the directors duo. Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that Shahid Kapoor has signed a 100 crore multi-project deal with Netflix, however, the actor hasn’t signed the contract so far. Shahid is planning to produce two projects for the streaming giant but the deal is still in the discussion stage.
