Based on a true story, the film revolves around the life of Richard Williams, father of the iconic Tennis playing sister duo- Venus and Serena Williams. Two-time Oscar nominee Will Smith stars as Richard, helmed by Amend: The Fight For America’s director Reinaldo Green.

The opening scene of the movie features the mother of the Williams sisters, Oracene “Brandi” Williams, played by Aunjanue Ellis. The role of Venus is played by Saniyaa Sidney, whereas Demi Singleton stars as Serena Williams, with Tony Goldwyn as coach Paul Cohen and John Bernthal as coach Rick Macci.

Green directed King Richard from a screenplay written by Zach Baylin. The producers include Tim White and Trevor White under their Star Thrower Entertainment Banner, and Will Smith under his Westbrook banner.
