Indian actor Yuvika Chaudhary has found herself in the middle of a controversy after she used a casteist slur in her latest vlog with her husband Prince Narula. While the actress apologized for the unintentional use of the word, she was called out by the netizens and an FIR has been registered against her under Atrocity Act for insulting a caste.
A few days ago, a vlog was uploaded on the internet which featured the couple while Prince went for a haircut. In the controversial video, Yuvika can be seen holding mobile and having fun. However, during the vlog, she made use of a casteist slur which got the attention of the netizens and she was called out. The actress immediately deleted the said portion but it was too late for the damage done.
After digital protests against her on social media, Dalit rights activist, Rajat Kalsan, registered an FIR against her under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act in the Hansi City of Haryana. Yuvika Chaudhary had also released an apology after her clip went viral. “Hi guys I didn’t know the meaning about that word wt I used in my last vlog I didn’t mean to hurt anyone and I can never do that to hurt someone I apologize to each n everyone I hope you understand love you all,” she wrote in response to the hatred.
Earlier, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah famed Munmun Dutta found herself in trouble after using a casteist slur in one of her vlogs and she was called out immediately. Munmun also deleted the video and apologised for the use of the word claiming she didn’t know the actual meaning.
