Actor Abhishek Bachchan says that his father, Amitabh Bachchan, is a good company to be with. The actor shares that when the duo was hospitalised due to Covid last year, they shared wonderful mornings waking up when he would go to see his father. Amitabh was 78-year-old last year and was suffered severe comorbidities along with the fighting spirit to battle the virus.

Abhishek believes that everybody has their own unique experience with Covid, and thus they react to it differently. He admits to not have a nice experience in his case because his family was inflicted by this as well and he felt trapped in a situation where he was under medical supervision and felt very powerless. The actor opened up about this during a social media live motivational podcast with international speaker Anand Chulani.

He says that it feels like one’s life is being run by only a number of medical teams so they are not in any control of faculties that way. This makes them realise that they don’t really have any power over what they do. One doesn’t feel too sure about what is happening and there is a lot of uncertainty present about how things are going to turn out to be. Abhishek says that the first few nights in the hospital for him, were quite tough because he didn’t know really what awaited me on the other side.

The actors advises that a positive mindset is a key thing that can be under one’s control and it does get challenging at times. He reveals how his father, Amitabh Bachchan help him deal with his sleepless nights since they were both in the hospital together. A week later his wife and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter were also hospitalised. Abhishek says that his father is a good company to have. But during that period, his energy was directed towards his father’s recovery since he belongs to a very sensitive age group.

Big B’s fighting spirit has been an inspiration to Abhishek who considers his father to be a great friend of his and feels that it was good to shoot the breeze with him. Being a Covid patient he thinks there is nothing else one can do but wait around and his father makes a good roomy in that sense.

Talking about how Covid has changed his life, he says that he has been the same person but likes to believe that even in such tough times, he must always stay positive. Another lesson he learnt was that one must value relationships and value the fact that we have a happy and healthy family around us. He says that at a point a he felt frustrated during the lockdown but his wife showed him a completely different perspective and told him how for the first time in many years, he could sit back, and not work round the clock. He had the best opportunity to enjoy the company of his family in the safety of his home.
